In 2010 the Hønefoss Church in Norway burned down completely. Julia Vance was selected to realize the artistic work in the new church designed by LINK Architecture. She sculpted the altar, pulpit and font which have been installed in the sanctuary. All three pieces are carved from the same block of White Statuario Marble (supplied by Elle Marmi, Carrara, Italy) , with shapes resembling large brush strokes frozen in mid air. She also designed a floor decoration in the entrance hall.
The new church was inaugurated in December 2017.
The Norwegian sculptor Julia Vance (born 1968) works in Oslo (Norway) and Pietrasanta (Italy).
